Synopsis
Akane Sakuramori and Saito Houjou genuinely cannot be in the same room without it turning into a verbal war zone, like, zero love lost between these two. He's laid-back, she's intense, and their classmates are used to the fireworks by now. Then their grandparents, who apparently had a whole romance of their own back in the day, decide these two should get married. While still in high school. And live together. That's the setup for this 12-episode TV series, and honestly, the fun is in watching two people who are absolutely convinced they hate each other slowly run out of reasons to keep up the act. The early episodes lean hard into the comedy of forced cohabitation, petty arguments over chores, awkward moments they'd both rather forget, and the constant paranoia of almost getting found out by classmates. But underneath the bickering, there's a slow thaw happening that feels earned rather than rushed. If you liked Nisekoi's fake-relationship tension or the way Toradora! turned two stubborn people into something real, this hits a similar nerve. It's also got a bit of that Oreshura energy where the premise is ridiculous but the character dynamics keep you watching. Studio Gokumi and AXsiZ keep the animation clean and expressive, which helps sell the comedic timing. It's a cozy watch, nothing groundbreaking, but the kind of rom-com that's easy to settle into on a quiet evening.
