Ijou Chitai: Jikken Dorei
Oshimeter
Synopsis
After losing her parents, Konno Azusa inherits her family's traditional Japanese inn, which sounds like a bittersweet fresh start until you realize the inn is nearly empty. Every guest has left except one: Moriyama Hiroki, a man with very specific ideas about what good hospitality looks like. To keep the inn running and honor what her family built, Azusa finds herself navigating an uncomfortable arrangement where saying no might mean losing everything. This is a 2-episode OVA from Studio 9 Maiami, based on a visual novel, and what separates it from a lot of similar titles is the setting. A traditional Japanese inn is an unusual backdrop for this genre, and it actually works in the story's favor — there's a tension between the warmth and history of the place and the uncomfortable situation Azusa is stuck in. The character work leans into her internal conflict more than you might expect, and the expressive character designs help sell that. If you've watched Resort Boin or Kanojo x Kanojo x Kanojo and want something with a slightly more grounded, character-focused setup, this scratches a similar itch but with a more specific emotional undercurrent. Fans of Shoujo Sect who appreciated quieter, slower-burn character dynamics will also find something familiar here. It's a short watch, the premise is simple, and it does what it sets out to do without overcomplicating things.
