I love a good backstory! Re:vale's backstory is such an interesting watch. How they met, how they bonded and how they started to become idols is such a refreshing thing to see. You could really see why the band/group is so important to them.

This episode is a massive flashback to Yuki, Banri, and Momo's past. It's fascinating to see how Yuki and Banri met and how they worked together as Re:vale. It's quite curious to see Yuki with such a complicated personality after seeing him more "friendly" in the future, especially with Momo. We also learn a bit about Momo's past and how meeting Yuki and Banri changed his life. One might think Yuki's way of thinking is wrong, but an artist who is both apprehensive about their work and a perfectionist can perfectly empathize with what he feels. The shots in the scenes are very well thought out; when Yuki and Banri talk at night by the sea, you can really feel a kind of cinematic care.

Absolutely top tier episode direction. They took a narrative section that felt weirdly placed in the VN and turned it into an total vibe. Getting huge manga Given feels from this. I love that blend of band dynamics and quiet melancholic atmosphere.
