I should warn you, I've been a fan of the Hypmic franchise since before the anime came out. Although I'm not entirely familiar with the overall story, and it seems there are different lore versions depending on the format. The games, the live shows, and this anime all seem to have their differences. About this episode: Beautiful art style for both backgrounds and animation, striking character designs. I don't usually like it when anime uses 3D, but in this case, it's very well done and fits perfectly with the musical moments. The story is about women ruling Japan and banning weapons (Excellent!), and this is where many people might think the premise is ridiculous: People fight with rap, with microphones that materialize powers and illusions. The premise might be ridiculous, but it's actually a good story. This first episode focuses on introducing the characters, of which there are many, divided into real regions of Japan. The music is excellent, because it's the focus of this franchise, and you can feel the care put into the musical scenes. If you can put aside the cringe for a moment, you can enjoy this anime.

I might be a bit biased as this is an adaptation of one of my favorite series. Great first episode. I like how it introduces us to to all the main characters doing their day to day activities, and gives us some banger music too. I like Matenro's song the best out the 4, but Fling Posse is my favorite group.
