This challenge has 2 parts. The first part is cooking, which is quite boring, and the examiner seems unprofessional, making it a little cringe. But the second challenge is straight to the point, which makes the Hunter Exam look easy compared to the previous episode. Overall, still enjoyable.

Are you hungry? This episode is basically a cooking show from hell. It’s a nice change of pace, moving from physical endurance to culinary skill. A bit niche, but seeing them struggle with the pigs is hilarious. You could skip, but why would you?

I really liked this episode after the tense situation in the swamp. It’s lighthearted and a bit humorous, as the four main characters bond even more. Such a cute and refreshing change of pace!

This episode feels much lighter, with less tension as our favorite quartet enjoys the exam together. It’s fun and refreshing to see them just bonding and having a good time. Lmfao.

A lighter episode compared to the previous one, but still very entertaining and overall lighthearted. I really love the chemistry between the four main characters—it makes every scene enjoyable to watch.

The second phase shifts from endurance to creativity, turning the exam into something unexpectedly strategic. The tension comes from problem-solving rather than strength, and the examiner–participant dynamic adds personality to the challenge. A surprisingly engaging twist.

Ep 6 is a curveball. After physical and mental challenges, the focus shifts to cooking.Feels like more of a filler although Watching characters react to a completely unexpected task is engaging, and it shows how the Hunter Exam values versatility.

In this episode anyone not expected a cooking exam like this in second phase of exam. Being hunter also need to know how to cook but not being that perfect its should be at least edible. I love how gon use his sense to gather the egg and passed the second phase exam.

It's just so funny, the exam hall wasn't that grand building, it was the restaurant beside it, i am gone. This is really funny.
But it seemed like that restaurant is just a diguise. Damn. But being a hunter is the most noble occupation? i really want to know what makes them so

I'm not fond of this ep especially Menchi, although I do get where she's coming from. As for the plot, it didn't really add anything to it and it just feels like a filler ep. The highlight of this episode though is the world-building where it shows you a glimpse of their world.

Menchi and Buhara are not what anyone expected from exam proctors. the cooking phase is chaotic and lowkey hilarious. lighter ep but Gon's instincts saving everyone at the end is such a good reminder of why he's the main protag🌟

EPISODE CONTEXT

Sitting at episode 6 of 148, this marks the transition into the Hunter Exam's second phase after the intense endurance trials and early encounters that defined the first five episodes. The introduction of new examiners and unconventional challenges broadens the scope of what the exam demands, moving beyond pure physicality. It directly sets the stage for increasingly creative and dangerous trials ahead, continuing to test the core group's resourcefulness as the exam arc unfolds.
