The studio really went all out with the animation for both the opening and ending sequences while the episode itself maintains roughly the same animation quality as the previous season. The episode is focused on Hozuki's backstory, exploring his life from childhood to the point where he begins working for Enma. Although several new characters are introduced, their proper introductions are oddly skipped, making their appearances feel abrupt. I'm not even sure why the studio chose to handle it that way.
