Here comes the war we’ve been anticipating and it does not disappoint. Souma is kind of an insanely great war strategist — one of the best episode from this season.

For a war episode, the animation is pretty meh, the battle scenes are terrible and look like they were made in PowerPoint, but as a strategic and political point of view, it's pretty good. The anime really shines if it's politically oriented instead of battle scenes

The war finally started. I liked how Souma used smart strategies instead of simple brute force during the battles. The moving battleship scene was fun to watch and caught me off guard, and the teamwork between the characters made this feel even more intense and enjoyable.

Episode Context

The title says it all, this is where the political chess game turns into real warfare, and the weight of that shift lands hard. Episode 10 drops the diplomatic pretenses and throws Souma, Gaius Amidonia, and Castor Vargas into direct military confrontation, where every tactical decision carries life-or-death stakes. The pacing is urgent and unrelenting, matching the battlefield tension with sharp strategic exchanges that reward viewers who've been paying attention to the political groundwork laid across earlier episodes. Themes of loyalty under pressure, the brutal calculus of leadership, and the personal cost of war take center stage. This is the payoff episode for the slow-burn kingdom-building, expect a gripping, thought-provoking installment that trades policy debates for the consequences those policies were always building toward.
