📖 SYNOPSIS

"House of Flames" tells the story of Unai-Otome, a beautiful woman from the village of Ikuta, who was loved by two suitors. Unable to choose between them, she tragically chose a third option: taking her own life. Though her intentions were pure, she found no peace even in death. Many years later, a pilgrim stumbles upon her grave and encounters a young woman, causing Unai-Otome's story to resurface. The film, drawing inspiration from a classic play of Noh traditional theatre, showcases the director's mastery in exploring the absurdity inherent in the human experience. The narrative delves into themes of love, loss, and the enduring nature of human emotions.
