📖 SYNOPSIS

Before a career-ending injury took it all away, Shun Satō was on track to make it as a soccer player. Now he's just a high school freshman coasting through his days with no real direction, turning down every club invitation that comes his way. Then he meets Naoki Satō — an upperclassman whose entire personality revolves around one phrase: 'I want to go home.' She's earned the nickname 'Chokki-chan' for it, and she runs what she calls the 'Hyper Going Home Club,' which is exactly what it sounds like: a group of students who walk home together after school. That's the club. That's the activity. Shun gets roped in despite wanting nothing to do with it, and what follows is this gentle, meandering slice-of-life about two people who don't really fit anywhere else finding something comfortable in each other's company. The romance builds slowly, more in the quiet moments between conversations than in any big dramatic confession. It's the kind of story where the walk home becomes the most important part of the day. Based on a seinen manga, it leans into that relaxed pacing — think the cozy mundanity of Non Non Biyori but with a romantic undercurrent, or the low-key character warmth of A Good Librarian Like a Good Shepherd. If you're into shows where not much happens on paper but everything happens emotionally, this one's worth your time. It's warm without being saccharine, and the 'fake club' premise gives it just enough quirk to stand apart.

✨ MUST WATCH IF...

You love wholesome, drama-free romance with a quirky school club setup
Shun's arc—from directionless ex-athlete to finding purpose—sounds like your thing
Eccentric heroines like Chokki-chan who drive the plot with oddball energy appeal to you

❌ SKIP IF...

You need heavy conflict or dramatic stakes—this leans cozy and low-tension throughout
Love status quo themes frustrate you—don't expect rapid romantic progression here
You'd rather read the manga first, which already has 40+ chapters of polished art
