This episode is like the rest, short, brutal, and somehow still funny. It blends nicely the comedy and tragedy, in my opinion thats very good, It's what I'm here for. The pacing is ok, though the animation quality is still the same 'Old style'

This is the big payoff everyone was waiting for. The duel between Hokuto and Nanto is a masterpiece of choreography and lighting. Every strike feels massive, delivering on all the hype built up since the first episode.

Episode Context

Episode 7 planted the seed, a wanted sketch, a briefing, a creeping sense of doom, and Episode 8 is where that setup pays off in full comedic fashion, delivering the grunt squad's worst-case scenario as an actual event rather than a hypothetical fear. It functions as a climax to the patrol duties storyline that has driven the last several episodes. With the squad's village assignment wrapping up here, the stage is set for a significant change of scenery and stakes heading into Episode 9.
