EPISODE REVIEWS

After a short arc with its high and lows, we get the expected introduction of one of the best and most beloved side characters of the series, his troll first appearance never gets old. With that said, it will take some little more to become likable, once his quest for revenge will get an emotional meaning and thus it'll make us sympathize with him. For now he is strong and badass, and kills nobodies in brutal ways, but man his moment with Mamiya was even weirder than in the old series. Oh and I gotta say I really like his voice. And speaking of Mamiya, she's gonna bring the emotional connection during the episode, what a strong commitment after such a huge loss. Cliffhanger big next enemy! I want to hear what he sounds like.I know all too well that this is a more faithful adaptation of the manga, but I have to say that I seem to prefer the way the old anime finished the episodes and stretched out some of the most important moments, I feel like over here those transition quite quickly one to another, and they come off as a bit emotionally lacking as a result. And I really wished the show ditched its 3D and went for its 2D insted, those few moments look like a more polished aesthetic from the mid to late 00s pentalogy movie series. Awww if only the whole series looked like that. But oh well, I'll keep expecting for more highlights, like Jagi!

The way Fang King just crushed Koh was hard to watch, and now the village has to deal with all that trauma. Kenshiro and Rei teaming up to hunt the Fang Clan is the best part of the episode.

Seeing Kenshiro mistake Mamiya for Yuria was such a sad moment. It really shows how much he is still hurting from his past while he tries to save these new people
