Episode Context

Sitting past the midpoint at episode 17 of 26, 'His Return' continues the deeper emotional excavation that followed the earlier comedic establishment of Yukino and Arima's dynamic. The preceding episodes have steadily peeled back performative facades to reveal genuine vulnerability, and this entry pushes that trajectory further by using physical separation to test the emotional bond. It sets the stage for the back half of the series, where the relationship's foundation will be challenged by increasingly complex personal and psychological stakes.
