Following Hikaru's pivotal return to professional play in Episode 71, this penultimate stretch uses Episode 72 to establish the renewed trajectories of both Hikaru and Akira before the series concludes at Episode 75. The episode bridges Hikaru's emotional recovery arc with the final narrative push toward their anticipated clash in the Meijin Qualifiers. It functions as the calm, focused inhale before the series delivers its closing statements across the remaining three episodes.
