Episode Context

Directly following Sai's explosive debut in online Go in Episode 15, this episode widens the scope to show how his dominance is sending shockwaves through the entire Go community. It's a pivotal transition point roughly one-fifth into the series, building the mythology around Sai as a separate force from Hikaru. Episode 17 escalates the hunt further, making this the setup for an identity crisis arc that will have major consequences for Hikaru's own development as a player.
