The last episode of this mad drive ends rather peculiarly. Many questions remained unanswered, and many scenarios were not invented. Yet there were ample plot pointers to address the whole cause of this anime. The final episode was okayish, and the flow was pretty general too.

Episode Context

Following 'Earth Invasion,' which pushed the Atonement Chapter's central conflicts past the point of no return, 'Retake' arrives as the arc's climax and the season's closing statement. It draws together the threads of betrayal, obsession, and desperate loyalty that have built across the chapter. As the final episode of the season, it does not so much close the door on Hinamizawa as it reframes everything that came before, leaving viewers primed for the answers promised in future arcs.
