Episode Context

Arriving at episode 37 of 49, this episode follows a chapter focused on the dangerous supernatural pull of a midnight music room, continuing the series' pattern of self-contained horror mysteries with escalating stakes. The 20-year-old notebook premise deepens the show's recurring theme of forgotten or suppressed pasts coming back to haunt the present. It bridges toward the next episode, which shifts tone by centering Yukime in a more romantic-leaning storyline, making this a compelling moment of contrast within the back half of the season.
