Money running out fast, home no longer an option, and nowhere to go, the only job available to the Sawatari sisters is working as live-in maids for a 14-year-old millionaire with way too much house and even more attitude. Izumi and Mitsuki Sawatari figure cleaning a mansion beats going back to their parents — until they meet Yoshitaka Nakabayashi, their new employer, who immediately insists on being called 'Master' and treats maid uniforms as his personal art project. The whole show lives in that dynamic: two sisters trying to hold onto their dignity while their boss finds new ways to be insufferable, and somehow the result is more funny than frustrating. The tone is light and comedic throughout, with recurring gags and a cast of eccentrics who keep the energy moving. It's worth noting that Gainax and Shaft co-produced this, which is an unusual pairing that gives it a slightly distinct visual personality compared to standard mid-2000s fare.
