This was a touching episode seeing the puppet play makes me realize that these students simply want a normal world and are trying to their best to create one through art. The pacing here lets the play rehearsal take up most of this episode's runtime before the war reminder arrives, which makes the latter hit harder.

A tragic episode.. The price these kids have to pay in order to protect the people.. This is their reality.. This is their fate.. The sound of the wailing woman on the background gave this episode a very chilling sensation.. The best episode of this anime so far.
