EPISODE REVIEWS

Peak ending, though the lack of budget is very prevalent.

Episode Context

As episode 6 of 6, this is the definitive conclusion to Gunbuster's tightly structured narrative, resolving the overarching conflict with the space monsters and the deeply personal journeys of Noriko and Kazumi. Episode 5 escalated both the external threat and the emotional stakes to a breaking point, and this finale follows through on every thread with unflinching commitment. There is no sequel-bait here, this is a complete, self-contained ending that redefines the meaning of everything that came before it.
