Amazing World Building and exploration, setting up the whole school concept and space enemies and all

Episode Context

As episode one of a tightly structured six-episode OVA, this installment carries the full burden of world-building, character introduction, and thematic setup, and it delivers efficiently. It establishes Noriko's starting point as an underdog pilot-in-training, the key relationships with Kazumi and Coach Ohta, and the competitive pressures that will catalyze her growth. Everything here is foundational, laying the emotional and narrative groundwork for the escalating stakes and sci-fi spectacle the series is renowned for.
