This episode really caught me off guard! I couldn't believe Kitaro's crush turned out to be just like them. Now, Kitaro can connect with Neko on a deeper level, since he finally understands the feeling of being different from humans and not quite fitting in.

I didn’t expect the events in this episode to unfold the way they did. The plot itself may not feel entirely unfamiliar, but knowing that this story originated in the 1960s makes it genuinely impressive. It really feels like they're one of the pioneers of this kind of supernatural storytelling, with later generations of anime possibly drawing inspiration from it. And finally, Neko’s voice is beautiful, legitimately beautiful!
