Still, slow paced episode. As a person who like action and plot. This had plot but lacked the action. Also they did not focus that much on the main characters in this episode.

We get to see Hijikata's group is collecting the remaining tattoo instead of going after Asirpa. A mix of action and sad story in the episode and the BGM also greatly helped with the mood. We get a little comedic part in the end to at least ease the heavy mood of the episode.

This episode shows a side story about Hijikata chasing Yoruichi the Manslayer. It delivers a lot of fast-paced sword combat and some great action. Yoruichi’s mastery of the sword, even at his old age, was pure cinema. A great side-story episode overall.
