Synopsis
After completing every single course at Tokyo University, genius Kintarou Ooe dropped out before graduating because why would a classroom be enough. Instead, he hops on his bicycle and rides across Japan, picking up random part-time jobs, software company, political office, whatever crosses his path, and somehow turning each one into a life lesson wrapped in absolute chaos. This 6-episode OVA from 1995 is pure comedic gold in the ecchi comedy space, and it earns every bit of its reputation. Kintarou is simultaneously the smartest and most ridiculous person in any room he enters. He'll be scrubbing toilets with an almost spiritual devotion one moment, then pulling off something genuinely impressive the next, all while fumbling around beautiful women in the most exaggerated ways possible. The setup is simple, each episode is basically a self-contained story where he starts a new job, meets a new woman, and leaves an impression nobody asked for. But what makes it work is that underneath all the over-the-top humor, Kintarou is weirdly sincere. He actually cares about learning and growing, even when the show is being as absurd as it gets. If you liked the shameless energy of Prison School or the lovable idiot charm of Great Teacher Onizuka, this one fits right in that lane. It's only six episodes, so there's no filler, no padding, just Kintarou and his bicycle against the world.

Surprisingly good for a 6-episode run! Don't expect deep character arcs, but the job-hopping comedy is genuinely funny throughout. The recurring theme of Kintarou chasing work keeps things entertaining. A lighthearted, hilarious ride from start to finish.
The toilet humor returns and somehow gets better! Easily the funniest episode yet, with the best character designs across the board. The pacing feels natural and the comedy lands every time. Instantly jumping to watch episode 6 — Golden Boy at its most hilarious. Highly recommend
What a very good episode. I wasn't expecting major story/character development in only 6 eps and I found the stories hilarious. the over-arching theme of getting a job, Very hilarious, but a nice way to end it I guess haha.
Best episode so far. Going to watch the sixth right away. the toilet joke was back. The episode had the best looking of all the ladies so far, and just goddamn hilarious in every aspect. Very nicely paced in my opinion too.
Kintarou's dedication really shines through in this episode. The more grounded setting lets his work ethic take center stage, and the animation holds up well. Character writing remains a strong point. A solid, entertaining episode that shows why Golden Boy is such a fun watch
Best episode yet. The jokes were funniest as was the "story." Laughed until it hurt when he showed of his "skill" 1st time lol. Mahn what a episode. The pacing was very engaging enough in my opinion.
