This episode has a nostalgic summer feeling to it, while playing into the dramatics of the underlying mystery that will unfold throughout the plot. So far, the group of friends feels realistic for their age and their antics. Kakeru, as a character, does well in setting the stage for the mystery, albeit sometimes a little strange or dramatic in how the plot is unfolding. Overall, the music and animations were beautiful and created a great first impression for a slice-of-life anime with a tinge of mystery.
Starts with a relaxing summer vibe mixed with quiet mystery. The fireworks scenes look beautiful, and the soft animation makes everything feel warm and dreamy. Touko and Kakeru’s first meeting feels strange but interesting, making you curious about what will happen next. This is anime want you to reminisce about your teen years. Nostalgic!
