Episode Context

Sitting at episode 172 of 201, this is a standalone Shinsengumi-centric episode that follows the Yorozuya's comedic hair loss ordeal and serves as a breather between larger narrative movements. It doesn't advance any overarching plot but deepens the ensemble dynamics that Gintama rewards long-term viewers with. Subsequent episodes return to the broader cast's misadventures as the series moves toward its final stretch.
