EPISODE CONTEXT
Episode 101 launches the Shinsengumi Crisis Arc, a major turning point roughly halfway through the series' 201-episode run, pivoting away from the standalone comedy episodes that preceded it. Hijikata's cursed sword and Itou Kamotarou's reintroduction plant the seeds for escalating internal conflict within the Shinsengumi.
