Episode Context

Continuing directly from Episode 6's reunion setup, this episode deepens the exploration of the core Joi War quartet's shared history, with Takasugi's presence felt even in absence. Early in Season 4's 51-episode run, these character-focused episodes lay critical groundwork for the heavier arcs ahead by reinforcing the emotional stakes between Gintoki and his former comrades. The bonds and fractures established here become essential context for the season's later dramatic escalations.
