Seeing more of the classic team come together is a treat and actually gives some more/better context to how the Major's team was ever even formed. Finally striking a balance between lore drops of the last great war and the adjustments each character is making to rejoin the world.

Episode Context

Picking up directly after Border:1 established Kusanagi's emancipation from the 501 Organization, this second installment is the critical bridge where Section 9's iconic roster begins to take shape, through rivalry rather than recruitment. It transforms the Arise narrative from a solo origin story into the complex team dynamic that Border:3 and beyond will build upon, making it essential viewing for understanding why these operatives eventually choose to work together.
