Gensou Suikoden

That pig scene got me. No other way to say it. Luca crawling that woman through the mud and then laughing at the end of it is the most unsettling thing I have watched this year

you can tell this was cut across studios. some dialogue shots looked rough but the rune stuff and the leap looked expensive. direction carried it

an hour and they already burned Kyaro and shipped the trio to the fort. felt like i skipped a whole arc. being branded traitors in your own hometown should sting more than that

That waterfall jump is the whole reason I'm still here next week. The lighting on the water as they went over the edge was worth the ticket alone

i was not ready for Riou to actually talk. hearing him snap at Viktor instead of being a blank slate threw me off for a second but it works. finally the guy gets to be a person

First thirty minutes really do play like someone hit fast forward on the game. The betrayal lands but you never get a second to sit in it before the next thing happens

Yashiro's voice work on Luca is doing so much heavy lifting here. That scene where he cuts his hand and drips blood on the seal had me genuinely uneasy for a kids' anime premiere

That dream with Luca laughing over the bodies under the red moon is the thing I can't shake. Somehow a single shot of him did more than the whole massacre did

watching Luca smile while Tsai stares at the smoke from Ryube is the whole episode right there. Pure dread and the man barely even moves

not a fan of Luca's laugh here. in the game he was cold and that stillness was what made him scary. this version feels like a cartoon villain cackling at his own evil plan

I was NOT ready for Pilika going back into the fire for her wooden bear. My stomach just dropped when I realized what was happening

That pig scene with Luca. I knew it was coming from the game and it still turned my stomach watching him make that woman crawl through the mud before cutting her down. Longtime fans were right that softening him would've ruined everything

Luca making that woman crawl in the mud while he laughs is the worst thing I have watched this year and I mean that as praise. Adapted the game perfectly. That extra bit of gore was not needed though

Double length episode, but it covers a lot of ground.
