Episode Context

Episode 99 of 100 stands as a self-contained story just before the series finale, offering one last classic yōkai encounter before the endgame. It follows the comedic and action-driven 'Oyaji's Hyperemia!! Hero Kitarō!!' and directly precedes the climactic final episode, 'Farewell, Father! The Threat of the Tengu King,' which promises a far more emotionally charged conclusion. This penultimate placement gives it the feel of a calm, confident breath before the series delivers its farewell.
