Episode Context

Sitting at episode 66 of 100, this falls comfortably in the back third of the series, where GeGeGe no Kitarou cycles through self-contained youkai-of-the-week stories with a well-established cast. It follows the darker-tinged 'Curse of the Dancing Bird! Ubume' and precedes the more horror-leaning 'Bloodsucking Tree! Jubokko,' making it a tonal breather between episodes with heavier supernatural stakes. No ongoing arc carries over, this is a clean standalone that showcases the series' range.
