In a world threatened by pollution and resource depletion, the Gatchaman, a team of five heroes, battle the evil Gallactor and its robot monsters to protect the Earth.
OFFICIAL SYNOPSIS
The anime "Gatchaman" is set in a world facing environmental crisis, prompting the establishment of the International Scientific Organization (ISO). Gallactor, an international criminal group, emerges, aiming to seize control of the ISO and conquer the world. Gallactor is orchestrated by the masked Berg Katse, acting under the orders of the extraterrestrial Generalissimo X. To combat this threat, Dr. Nambu of the ISO recruits five youths to form the Gatchaman, the Science Commandos. The team consists of Ken (the Eagle), the leader; Joe (the Condor); Jun (the Swan); Jinpei (the Swallow); and Ryu (the Horned Owl). Each Gatchaman possesses unique scientific weapons and birdlike costumes, and they pilot the Phoenix, an aircraft that transforms into a powerful fiery arrow. The series follows the Gatchaman as they confront Gallactor's robot monsters and fight to protect the world.
