Set in the late 21st century, "Galaxy Investigation 2100: Border Planet" follows a woman who, after marrying and leaving Earth, is left alone in space when her husband succumbs to a cosmic disease. Inspired by the omnibus style of Bradbury's "Martian Chronicle" and sharing thematic similarities with "Phoenix: Nostalgia," the story centers on the woman's friends on Earth. Driven by their affection for her, they venture into space to rescue her. Tezuka Osamu, the creator, emphasizes the core concepts that love is the ultimate salvation, both for humanity and the Earth itself, within this space-faring love story.
