Episode Context

Sitting at the series' midpoint, this episode follows 'Symphonic Poem and the Witch's Harp,' where Tetsurou and Maetel grappled with legacy and oppressive power, and continues 999's pattern of using each planet as a philosophical lens. Here, the lens turns squarely on death and ritual, deepening Tetsurou's ongoing confrontation with what immortality truly costs. It bridges directly into 'Dyruz the Space Monk,' shifting the thematic conversation from mortality toward spirituality and redemption.
