Episode Context

Sitting at the season's halfway mark, this episode transitions away from the Alice training focus of episode 11 and launches the school festival arc, which will serve as a major narrative throughline for upcoming episodes. It establishes the festival's scope and the dynamics within Mikan's Special Abilities Class, laying groundwork for character moments and events that will carry significant weight later. The communal, low-stakes atmosphere here acts as a calm-before-the-storm setup, giving the cast room to breathe before the festival arc escalates.
