The interactions between Mikan & Natsume are both hilarious & interesting despite Natsume’s constant anger and intimidating presence, Mikan’s reactions remain endlessly funny, even when she’s clearly scared. Although Hotaru shows no emotion, you can deeply feel her care for Mikan

Episode Context

As the first of 26 episodes, this is pure foundation, establishing Mikan's character, her defining relationship with Hotaru, and the mysterious pull of Alice Academy before the real adventure begins. The emotional stakes set here directly fuel the next episode, where Mikan's determination leads her toward the Academy gates and the magical world that will define the rest of the season.
