Furifure 2
Oshimeter
Synopsis
Shinozaki Sumire is left completely on her own — no family, no safety net, and no idea how to keep the lights on — after her mother dies unexpectedly. Out of desperation, she turns to Free Friends, an online message board for compensated dating, just to scrape together enough money to survive. Her first meetup is with a guy named Kaito, a new student teacher who uses the same site for his own complicated reasons. Neither of them knows it yet, but this isn't exactly a meeting between strangers. There's a history buried under the surface that neither of them can fully see coming into the first couple of episodes. The story leans harder into the emotional and psychological weight of that setup than you might expect from a 4-episode OVA — there's genuine character work around loneliness, loss, and the way people cope when intimacy feels impossible. If you watched the original Furifure The Animation and wanted more of that layered dynamic between the leads, this picks up that thread and runs with it. It shares some DNA with Yosuga no Sora in how it handles complicated relationship territory without completely shying away from the messiness. The PoRO production keeps things grounded in a contemporary setting that makes the emotional stakes feel real rather than abstract. It's adapted from a visual novel, and that source material shows — the character writing has more depth than the premise might suggest on the surface.
