Episode Context

Sitting at episode 9 of 51, this follows the heavier Philosopher's Stone arc material and functions as a narrative breather, a one-off mission that deepens Ed and Al's characterization without advancing the central plot. It bridges directly into 'The Phantom Thief' and establishes a recurring pattern where standalone episodes reinforce the brothers' values and their complicated relationship with the military they serve. Early-season worldbuilding like this pays dividends as stakes escalate later.
