Episode Context

Sitting at episode 43 of 51, 'The Stray Dog' follows the catastrophic events of 'His Name is Unknown,' where the Philosopher's Stone's creation left devastation in its wake, fundamentally altering the Elric brothers' standing with the military. This episode serves as a transitional piece, converting that fallout into direct consequence as Ed and Al become hunted fugitives. It feeds directly into 'Hohenheim of Light,' setting up critical character introductions and deepening the narrative threads that will drive the series toward its climax.
