Episode Context

Coming directly after 'Secret of Ishbal,' which exposed the horrific truths behind the Ishbalan genocide, this episode deepens the fallout by centering Scar's personal connection to those events and his entanglement with the homunculi. Sitting at episode 40 of 51, this is firmly in the late-game stretch where character motivations crystallize before the final act. It directly sets the stage for 'Holy Mother,' shifting narrative momentum toward the escalating crisis in Lior and the endgame surrounding the Philosopher's Stone.
