There was a bait and switch between the last episode and the beginning, you wouldve thought the battle ended last episode which was too soon but this episode extended the battle with a much needed montage.

It sets up a very interesting fact about Frieren's hidden powers too. Unfortunately we didnt get to see more of the other characters in action against other clone.
