Foxy Lady
Oshimeter
Synopsis
Hidden beneath the silk and ceremony of Yoshibara's red-light district, Ginko is a courtesan concealing something far stranger than the usual secrets of her world — she's an Ayakashi, a fox spirit, passing as human. When a traveling peddler wanders through her world, she recognizes him immediately: Yuujiro, the boy who saved her life years ago, the first human she ever truly saw. He has no idea who she is now. That tension — her remembering everything while he remembers nothing — is where the story lives. Ginko's feelings for Yuujiro are genuine, but her supernatural nature makes the whole situation genuinely dangerous for him, and she knows it. It's a forbidden love story wrapped in Edo-period atmosphere and Japanese folklore, and it uses that setting well. The Yoshibara backdrop gives it a moody, specific sense of place that a lot of supernatural romance stories skip over. If you've watched Omamori Himari or Nyan Koi! and wanted something with a heavier, more melancholic tone, this leans further into the emotional weight of what it actually means for a spirit and a human to want something they probably can't have. It's a single OVA, so the storytelling is tight — no room for filler, just the setup and the feeling. Fair warning: it's a hentai title, so go in with that expectation. But the folklore framing and the actual emotional core of Ginko's situation give it more to chew on than you might expect from a one-episode release.
