The underdog hype in this episode is real. The pacing is quick and is a constant rush of adrenaline. The rebellious tone here is paired with some good animation, which opened the path for some solid character development.

The pressure is heavier, and the sense of competition is more intense. The focus isn't just on the actual cooking one must remain calm despite the mounting tension throughout the episode.

Isshiki's trust amongst his Polar Start Dorm mates is high. The energy in the Polar Start Dormitory is back. What happened to Isshiki is unexpected. I find Momo's character a bit weird. Not only Yukihira but also Takumi didn't hold back in taunting that new central member. The next episode's shokugeki wil be exciting to watch.

Episode Context

Positioned at episode 9 of 12, this lands squarely in the season's escalation phase. Soma's hard-fought victory against Eizan in the preceding episodes saved Polar Star, but the Azami administration's reach extends far beyond one dormitory. This episode broadens the conflict's scope, showing Central's campaign against resistant student factions across the academy. It serves as critical connective tissue leading into the final stretch, setting the stage for the larger-scale culinary confrontations that will define the season's climax.
