This episode is intense. The pacing is good and balanced everything properly. The competitive tone in this episode felt good, and is pared with good animation, which offered some solid character development.

One of the best aspects of the episode is the use of the characters to drive the story forward. Their personalities, attitudes, and chemistry are more evident, so they don't simply come across as mere contestants waiting for the next cooking competition.

Yukihira did it in the booth, he also made something similar. I really like Yukihira's thinking. I like the scene where Nakiri is lecturing Yukihira about something. We also learn something about Spicy in this episode. Alice used emotion to get Shiomi's approval. That is so clever. I laughed so hard when Yukihira and Megumi started to taste-test their dish. Looking at Kuga's stall and Yukihira's stall, the difference is so massive.
