Sitting at roughly the 40% mark of the series, episode 17 is a critical pivot point — the preparation phase is over, and the Ura Buto Satsujin tournament arc officially launches, which will dominate the bulk of the remaining episodes. Everything prior — Recca's flame mastery training, team assembly, early skirmishes — was building toward this entrance.
