Episode Context

Episode 62 sits past the halfway mark of the 109-episode run and marks the transition from preparatory skirmishes against Souther's forces, including Kenshiro's village defense in Episode 61, into direct confrontation with the Holy Emperor himself. This escalation is a critical turning point in the Souther arc, converting simmering tension into an active clash of martial arts philosophies. The groundwork laid here sets the stage for the arc's most consequential battles and revelations in the episodes ahead.
