Episode Context

Sitting at the early-middle stretch of a 24-episode season, Episode 5 builds directly on the escalating Infernal threats and new adversaries introduced in Episode 4, shifting from setup into active confrontation. Company 8's response here establishes the tactical and thematic groundwork for the larger conflicts that will define the season's middle act. The 'secret plan' element suggests narrative threads are being planted that will pay off in subsequent episodes as the power dynamics within the Fire Force continue to fracture.
