Episode Context

Coming off Ippo's grueling victory in the Rookie King Tournament's earlier rounds, episode 16 serves as a crucial recalibration point roughly one-fifth into the series. It bridges the intensity of recent fights with the escalating challenges ahead by shifting into observation and preparation mode. The groundwork laid here, particularly the renewed focus on Miyata as a rival and upcoming opponent scouting, feeds directly into the training intensification that follows.
