The perspective of a creature whose entire existence spans just a single day brings such a poignant, reflective theme on how humans take time for granted. Watching his relationship with the young scholar unfold and seeing the lingering weight of his memories made for some truly heartbreaking scenes. The art direction and score during the final moments were stunning and really elevated the sentimentality.

I enjoyed this episode because it gave more focus to the characters. It was easy to watch, and nothing felt rushed.
