Synopsis
A university student named Iori Fudo thinks chikan — men who grope women on crowded trains — are basically a myth. An urban legend people exaggerate. She's actively researching the topic just to debunk it, which is exactly the kind of dramatic irony that gets you into trouble. Sure enough, she ends up in the middle of an incident herself, and the person who pulls her out of it is Kiichi Kusakabe — a quiet, hooded guy with unsettling eyes who also happens to be one of them. That tension sits at the center of the whole thing. Her rescuer and her threat are the same kind of person, and that's a genuinely uncomfortable place to set a story. The two-episode OVA from BreakBottle leans hard into that psychological friction, with character designs that feel grounded compared to a lot of stuff in this space, and a soundtrack that keeps the atmosphere consistently tense rather than cheap. If you've watched something like Euphoria or Kuroinu and wanted something with a bit more character grounding in its setup, this scratches a similar itch. Fans of darker, psychologically-leaning hentai OVAs along the lines of Shoujo Ramune will recognize the pacing here — slow burn, character-first, then escalation. It's based on a visual novel, and that DNA shows in how much attention the writing pays to Iori's internal logic before everything unravels. Not casual viewing, but if the premise has you curious, it delivers on what it's setting up.
